Mercer County Community College

In order to improve services for patrons of the campus, Mercer County Community College chose to construct a new building / auditorium which was entitled "The Conference Center." Our staff provided design of site improvements and coordinated with the project architect in order to meet the College's demanding time frame as well as minimize disturbance to activities taking place on the campus. This project required the construction of a parking facility to serve the Conference Center as well as relocation of existing water mains on the campus in order to allow for the placement of the proposed building. Our office also secured certification for the project from the Mercer County Soil Conservation District as part of the overall scope of work. Construction documents and contract specifications were prepared for our utilization in assisting the College with the contractor bidding process. Upon commencement of construction, our staff also provided field observation to ensure the proper construction of same.

Based on the age of the existing infrastructure of the campus, Mercer County Community College chose to provide improvements to the westerly portion of their campus. Improvements provided by our office consisted of providing a rehabilitation project for a 500 space parking area as well as the connector driveway between Old Trenton Road and Hughes Drive. It was important to the College that these improvements be constructed in such a way as to not interfere with the activities taking place on the campus and design implementations were considered in order to minimize disturbance related to same.

Our services provided also included obtaining certification from the Mercer County Soil Conservation District for the project. Construction documents and contract specifications were prepared by our staff who assisted in the bidding process and also provided construction observation during the improvement process.
